Black & Tan
A classic layered beer cocktail that combines the crisp bitterness of a pale ale with the creamy, roasted notes of a stout. When poured correctly over a spoon, the lighter pale ale remains at the bottom while the dark stout floats on top, creating a striking visual contrast and a complex drinking experience.
Ingredients
- 8 OZ Bass Pale Ale
- 8 OZ Guinness Stout
How to Make It
- Tilt the pint glass and pour the Bass Pale Ale inside until the glass is approximately half full.
- Allow the head of the pale ale to settle slightly.
- Hold a spoon upside down, placing the tip against the inside of the glass, just above the layer of the pale ale.
- Slowly pour the Guinness Stout over the back of the spoon to gently disperse the liquid and prevent the beers from mixing.
- Continue pouring until the glass is full, ensuring the black stout floats on top of the tan ale.
