Bumble Bee
A visually striking layered shot that creates distinct stripes resembling a bumble bee. This shooter combines the rich texture of Irish cream with deep coffee notes, finished with a crisp anise kick from the Sambuca.
What it tastes like
The nose is dominated by pungent star anise and herbal notes from the sambuca. The palate transitions from sharp liquorice to sweet, roasted coffee and rich dairy cream. It has a heavy, syrupy mouthfeel that coats the tongue, finishing with a lingering warmth and sugary spice.

Substitutions
- SambucaAnisette — This maintains the liquorice profile but results in a lower alcohol content and a sweeter finish.
- KahlúaTia Maria — Tia Maria provides a drier coffee taste with more prominent vanilla notes than Kahlúa.
- Baileys Irish CreamAmarula — Using this fruit-based cream liqueur introduces a subtle tartness and exotic fruit aroma.
- SambucaAbsinthe — This swap significantly increases the alcohol burn and introduces a complex herbal bitterness.
Variations
Black Bee
Replace the Sambuca with Jägermeister to create a darker profile with medicinal herbs and spice.
Stinging Bee
Substitute the Sambuca for white tequila to cut through the sugar with a sharp, agave-forward bite.
