Caribbean Orange Liqueur

Caribbean Orange Liqueur cocktail

A vibrant homemade orange liqueur crafted by infusing vodka with fresh orange zest and sweetening with superfine sugar. This liqueur requires patience to age but results in a smooth, citrus-forward spirit perfect for cocktails.

Ingredients

How to Make It

  1. Pare the rind from the oranges very thinly, ensuring no bitter white pith remains attached.
  2. Blot the orange peels on paper towels to remove any excess oil.
  3. Place the peels into a clean 4-cup screw-top jar.
  4. Pour 2 cups of the vodka over the peels and seal the jar tightly.
  5. Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 2 days, or until the vodka has absorbed the citrus flavor.
  6. Remove and discard the orange peels from the jar.
  7. Add the remaining 1 cup of vodka and the superfine sugar to the infused vodka.
  8. Seal the jar again and shake well to dissolve the sugar.
  9. Return the jar to a cool, dark place and allow it to age for at least 1 month before serving.
