A sophisticated pre-Prohibition style gin sour variation. This cocktail combines the botanical notes of gin with tart lemon and sweet maraschino liqueur, while the addition of an egg yolk provides a rich, creamy texture and a golden hue worthy of its high-stakes name.
Ingredients
- 2 OZ Gin
- 0.5 OZ Lemon Juice
- 1 TSP Maraschino Liqueur
- 1 DASH Orange Bitters
- 1 WHOLE Egg Yolk
How to Make It
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes.
- Add the gin, lemon juice, maraschino liqueur, orange bitters, and the egg yolk to the shaker.
- Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to emulsify the egg yolk and chill the drink.
- Strain the mixture into a chilled sour glass.
