Dark Caipirinha
A robust twist on Brazil's national cocktail, the Dark Caipirinha replaces refined white sugar with rich Demerara sugar. This substitution adds deep caramel and molasses notes that pair exceptionally well with the grassy, vegetal complexity of Cachaça and fresh lime.
Ingredients
- 2 TSP Demerara Sugar
- 1 WHOLE Lime
- 2.5 OZ Cachaça
How to Make It
- Cut the lime into wedges.
- Place the lime wedges and Demerara sugar directly into an Old Fashioned glass.
- Muddle the ingredients firmly to release the lime juice and integrate the sugar.
- Fill the glass with fresh ice cubes.
- Pour the Cachaça over the ice.
- Stir well to chill the drink and dissolve the remaining sugar.
