Gin Swizzle
A refreshing and effervescent gin cocktail that balances the tartness of fresh lime with a touch of sweetness and aromatic bitters. A crisp, cooling beverage perfect for warm afternoons.
What it tastes like
The aroma is dominated by fresh lime zest and piney juniper. On the palate, sharp citrus acidity is balanced by a light, dry sweetness and botanical herbal notes. The mouthfeel is crisp and highly effervescent from the club soda. It concludes with a clean, dry finish and a subtle hint of spice from the bitters.

Substitutions
- Superfine SugarSimple Syrup — Using syrup ensures the sweetener is fully integrated without any undissolved granules at the bottom.
- Club SodaSparkling Mineral Water — This adds a subtle mineral salinity that can highlight the botanicals in the gin.
- Lime JuiceLemon Juice — Lemon provides a brighter, more floral acidity compared to the sharper bite of lime.
- BittersOrange Bitters — Switching to orange bitters emphasizes the citrus elements and removes the heavier spice notes of aromatic bitters.
Variations
Elderflower Swizzle
Replace the superfine sugar with half an ounce of elderflower liqueur for a floral aroma and a softer sweetness.
Navy Swizzle
Use navy strength gin to increase the alcohol content and ensure the botanical flavors remain prominent against the soda water.
