Irish Coffee
A comforting classic that blends the warmth of fresh, strong coffee with the rich notes of Irish whiskey. Sweetened just enough to balance the flavors and topped with a floating collar of cool cream, it is the perfect winter warmer or after-dinner treat.
What it tastes like
The aroma is dominated by roasted coffee beans and a faint maltiness from the grain whiskey. The palate features a temperature contrast between the cold cream and the hot, bitter liquid below. The finish is warming with a slight sweetness from the dissolved sugar and a lingering dairy richness.

Substitutions
- Irish WhiskeyBourbon — Bourbon adds vanilla and oak notes that increase the perceived sweetness of the drink.
- SugarBrown Sugar — Brown sugar provides a deeper molasses profile that pairs well with dark roasted beans.
- Hot CoffeeEspresso and Hot Water — Using an Americano base provides a thicker body and more intense crema.
- Whipped CreamLightly shaken heavy cream — Using pourable, thickened cream creates a more traditional layered appearance than stiff peaks.
