Masala Chai
A traditional, aromatic Indian spiced tea blend known for its warming properties. Robust black tea is brewed with a medley of ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and peppercorns, then finished with milk and sugar for a comforting beverage.
Ingredients
- 2 ML Water
- 4 TSP Loose Leaf Black Tea
- 1 SLICE Dried Ginger
- 4 WHOLE Green Cardamom Pods (Crushed)
- 3 WHOLE Cloves
- 1 WHOLE Cinnamon Stick
- 2 WHOLE Black Peppercorns
- 0.5 ML Whole Milk
- 2 TSP Sugar
How to Make It
- Bring the water to a rolling boil in a pot or saucepan.
- Add the loose leaf tea, dried ginger slice, crushed cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns to the boiling water.
- Let the mixture boil vigorously for another 15 seconds.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture steep and stand for 1 minute.
- While the tea steeps, warm the milk in a separate small pot or frother.
- Strain the tea mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into coffee mugs.
- Stir in the warm milk and sugar to taste before serving.
