Mint Julep cocktail

A refreshing and historic Southern classic synonymous with the Kentucky Derby. This cocktail combines the warmth of bourbon with the cooling properties of fresh mint and crushed ice, served traditionally in a frosted glass.

How to Make It

  1. In a Collins glass, gently muddle the fresh mint, powdered sugar, and water together to release the mint oils.
  2. Fill the glass to the brim with cracked or crushed ice.
  3. Pour the bourbon over the ice.
  4. Stir rapidly with a bar spoon until the outside of the glass becomes well frosted.
  5. Garnish with a generous fresh mint sprig.
